With the Family Pool Pass you pay $390.00 for the season and your family can participate in as many activities as they wish. This includes activities such as AquaTots, Swim Lessons, Team Sports, Leaders, Masters Conditioning, and so much more

RED CROSS SWIM PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

 

Under the new Red Cross “ANIMAL PROGRAM” (Starfish, Duck & Sea Turtle)

Together, mother or father and child will enjoy a 30-minute fun/safe introduction to the water

Maximum 6 children.

For ages: 4 months to 3 years of age                        

TUESDAY: 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.*

RED CROSS SWIM PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

 

Levels include: Salamander, Sunfish, Crocodile and Whale.

RED CROSS SWIM KIDS PROGRAM

 

This is an exciting 10 level program for children aged 6 and up. Learn how to swim in a fun and safe environment. The program features water safety and swimming skills taught according to the three guides: Prepare, stay safe and survive!

 

 

Prepare!  Before you head for the water.

Stay Safe! While having fun in, on and around the water.

Survive!  Know what to do if something does go wrong.

 

FOR AGES: 6 years of age and up

Monday-Friday according to the level- between: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.*

COST

Levels 1-5: $58.00 - 2 week session (30 minutes)

Levels 6-10: $58.00 - 2 week session (45 minutes)

 

 

 

 

 

 

LIFESAVING/LEADERSHIP COURSES

 

 

 

LEADERS

 

An excellent program for your children to get involved in the various activities at the pool.

Children are taught participation and co-operation in the spirit of volunteerism

FOR AGES: Junior Leaders 8-10years  Senior Leaders 10 years and up.

TUESDAY 1:00 p.m.- 2: 00 p.m.

NOVICE LIFE SAVER TEAM

 

This program is designed for the swimmer that has completed their level 10 is not 13 years old and is not eligible to start the Bronze courses.

The program focuses on an introduction to basic life saving and life guarding skills, leadership and teamwork.

This is not a Red Cross or Lifesaving Society certificate course.

MONDAYS: 7:00-8:30 pm

BRONZE MEDALLION & BRONZE CROSS - Royal Lifesaving Society of Canada

 

Students will acquire an understanding of the key lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education. Rescuers learn the different types of swimmer distress, emergency situations, tows, carries, release methods and much more in preparation for the challenging rescues of a lifeguard.

Students must be 13 years and up to participate in this class and if passed will receive a certificate and / or card from the Lifesaving Society.

ALL CLASSES MUST BE ATTENDED. MINIMUM OF 8 PEOPLE PER PROGRAM

MONDAYS: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

TEAM SPORTS

 

 

SWIM TEAM

 

Competitive swimming with meets every Wednesday evening at HYC or away at West Island pools.

Children learn stroke and turn techniques in an easy mannered environment

GUPPIES LEVEL 3 and up: Weekdays 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

10 YEARS and under: Weekdays 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

11 YEARS and over: Weekdays 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

COST

Guppies $47.00 for the summer

10 and under- 11 years and over $58.00 for the summer*

 

 

 

WATERPOLO INSTRUCTION   

HOUSE LEAGUE

 

This is a great team sport with a competitive edge. For the summer season swimmers will be introduced to water polo rules, drills and game skills in preparation for future West Island ALPS competitions. House league games will be arranged throughout the summer.

Atoms will participate in an ALPS Atom Tournament at a West Island Pool. TBA.

TIME: Thursday 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

FOR AGES: ATOM: born after 1999 level 5 and over

CADET: born 1995 or later

JUVENILE: born in 1993 or later

 SYNCHRO FOR BEGINNERS

 

This is a developmental program for children interested in learning the basics of Synchronized swimming routines.

For swimmers with Level 5.

Tuesday 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.

ADULT COURSE

 

AQUAFIT

A class involving warm-up, aerobic and flexibility components

under the instruction of Pam Maguire.

Intensity levels change throughout the week with appropriate music.

June 28th – August 20.

Weekdays except THURSDAY: 12:00-1:00p.m.

COST

$135.00 for the summer

Drop-ins (space available) $10.00 per class. Max. 20 per program.

 

 

 

ADULT LEARN TO SWIM

For members over the age of 18 who have no previous swimming experience. Designed for adults who want to learn the swim basics of front crawl, breaststroke, eggbeater in the deep end and dives.

If you are looking to get over your fear of the water, come and join one of our lifeguards and learn how to swim

Mon. Wed. 1:00p.m.- 2:00 p.m. or 1 evening TBA

COST

$24.00 1 session per week for the summer

$58.00 2 sessions per week for the summer

 

 

MASTERS CONDITIONING

A training program for adults with some swimming skills

Workouts and tips on improving strokes and technique

MONDAY/THURSDAY: 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

LAP SWIM

Please note (if requested) 1-2 lanes of the deep end will be ‘reserved’ (depending on the number of swimmers) for lap swimming and individual swim practice

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

1 lane will be reserved during Masters Conditioning Mon/Thurs. 5:00 p.m.-6:00p.m.

THE POOL PROGRAMS MAY QUALIFY FOR THEFEDERAL GOVERNMENT’S CHILDRENS’ FITNESS TAX CREDIT.

PLAYGROUND

 

When your children are not swimming they are welcome to join our animator

in the playground and junior club house for daily activities and special theme days.

This program is designed for sports enthusiasts, young artists and for junior members who want to relax and make new friends. All junior members are encouraged to participate. However, children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Members are responsible for their children at all times.

 

THIS IS NOT A DAY CARE.

 

MONDAY/FRIDAY 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed for lunch 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

June 28th to August 20th.

 

The playground facilities are offered free of charge to club members.

Participants will be asked to register their name, address, phone number and emergency number with the playground animator.
