Junior Swim Lessons

HYC offers swim lessons for all ages including children from 4 months to 3 years in our (Aquatots) Red Cross Swim Preschool program, as well as children 3 years and up in our (Aquaquest) and Red Cross Swim Kids program.

Please note that registration for all Pool Programs will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2008 in the Clubhouse from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

(Aquatots) Red Cross Swim Preschool Swimming Lessons

For ages 4 months to 3 years.

Together mother or father and child will enjoy a 30 minute fun/safe introduction to the water.

Maximum 6 children per session.

Program begins June 23rd on Monday/Wednesday and/or Tuesday/Thursday. Times to be confirmed at registration.

$24.00 PER 2-WEEK SESSION (30 minutes)

Dip in...let the adventure begin!

For ages 3 years and up.

Your child is about to set out on an exciting journey. A fun and rewarding adventure that will offer lifelong skills to stay safe in, on and around the water.

(AquaQuest) Red Cross Swim Preschool is: an exciting 10 level program for children aged 3 and up. It features water safety and swimming skills, taught according to three guides; Prepare, Stay Safe and Survive:

Prepare! before you head for the water.

Stay Safe! while having fun in, on and around the water.

Survive! know what to do if something does go wrong.

ELIGIBILITY

Children 3 years of age and up.

DATES AND TIMES

Program begins June 23rd, Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., duration according to the level.

COST

(AquaQuest) Red Cross Swim Kids Levels 1-6: (30 minutes) $50.00 per 2-week session.

(AquaQuest) Red Cross Swim Kids Levels 7-10: (45 minutes) $50.00 per 2-week session.


BRONZE MEDALLION AND BRONZE CROSS:

Students will acquire an understanding of the key lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education. Rescuers learn the different types of swimmers in distress, what to do when faced with an emergency situation, tows, carries, release methods and much more in preparation in becoming a lifeguard
Students must be 13 and up to participate in this class and if passed will receive a certificate and/or card from the lifesaving society. ALL CLASSES MUST BE ATTENDED. MINIMUM OF 10 PEOPLE TO HAVE THE PROGRAM. MONDAYS FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. COST IS $100.00 FOR THE SUMMER (BOOKS AND EXAM FEES OR AN ADDITIONAL COST)
